These computer NFL rankings take margin of victory in games and adjust for strength of schedule. The rating gives an expected margin of victory against an average NFL team on a neutral site.

To make more accurate predictions, these team rankings are combined with preseason model based on wisdom of crowds. This preseason component gets less weight with each passing week.
