There should be a playoff system. But within the current system, Alabama should be facing TCU, not Texas. The Power Rank says Alabama is by far the best team in college football. After this weekend, I don’t think too many people would disagree.
If you couldn’t get into college football this weekend, you don’t have a soul. The Pittsburgh Panthers take Cincinnati to the wire, only to lose on a botched snap on the extra point after their last touchdown. No one will remember that Cincinnati also blew an extra point earlier in the game. All the haters of the BCS system are still groaning after Texas squeaks by Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship game. Fine, Colt McCoy, so you actually knew that ball would hit the ground with one second remaining on the clock. But what kind of superstar quarterback would come that close to a play that would make everyone forget THE play in the 1984 Cal Stanford game? Call the effing time out. I can hear bits flowing into your cell phone from Mark Ingram’s and Toby Gerhart’s texts thanking you for the extra Heisman votes.
