Overview

ThePowerRank.com (“TPR” or “Our”) respects the privacy of the information we collect from our website visitors (“Users”) and those who signup for TPR memberships (“Members”) while operating the www.thepowerrank.com website or a subdomain of thepowerrank.com (collectively “Site”).

TPR may collect personally identifying information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our Site, register to become a Member on the Site, or subscribe to our newsletters. Users may visit portions of our Site anonymously, and TPR will collect personally identifying information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Our Privacy Policy is guided by three fundamental principles:

  • We only ask you for personal information we need in order to provide you a service.
  • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
  • We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of one of our services.

The following privacy policy incorporates these goals and governs the manner in which TPR collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from Users and Members of our Site.

Website Visitor

TPR collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as:

  • your IP address;
  • the type of browser and operating system used to access our site;
  • your language preference;
  • the date and time you access our site;
  • the pages you visit; and
  • if you linked to our Web site from another Web site, the address of that Web site.

This information does not identify you personally.

TPR’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how TPR’s visitors use the Site. From time to time, TPR may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing information on trends in the usage of the website.

TPR also collects potentially personally-identifying information for logged in users and for users leaving comments in our forums. TPR only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to TPR’s Sites choose to become Members. Membership to TPR requires TPR to gather additional personally-identifying information. Since membership is a paid service, TPR asks Members to provide the necessary personal and financial information required to process those transactions. TPR uses a Third-party credit card processor for fulfillment and does not retain or store the member’s financial information.

TPR does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

How TPR uses collected information

TPR may collect and use Members personal information to:

  • improve customer service;
  • personalize user experience;
  • improve our Site; and
  • send periodic emails.

TPR may use User or Member email addresses to respond to their inquiries, questions, and/or other requests. If User or Member decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time a User or Member would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, TPR includes detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

Aggregated Statistics

TPR may collect (or use third-parties to collect) statistics about the behavior of visitors to its Site. TPR may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, TPR does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

TPR adopts appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information stored on our Site. Sensitive and private data exchange between the Site and its Users happens over a SSL secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures.

TPR discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors, board members and affiliated organizations that

  • i. need to know that information in order to process it on TPR’s behalf or to provide services available at TPR’s websites, and

TPR may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the Site or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. TPR may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes.

TPR will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors, board members and affiliated organizations, as described above, TPR discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when TPR believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of TPR, third parties or the public at large.
